FAQ - USA RX

Who is USA Rx?

USA Rx was founded to bring cost savings to health care products. We are based in New York and are passionate about bringing down the cost of health care! There are over 80 million uninsured Americans and just as many who are underinsured or have gaps in their coverage. USA Rx provides cardholders with discounts of up to 75%!

How Do I use the Card?

You simply bring your USA Rx discount pharmacy card along with your prescription to participating pharmacy and provide the card to your pharmacist along with your prescription. Your pharmacist will immediately be able to tell you the cost of your medication and fill your prescription.

Do I Have to bring the card to my pharmacy each time to get my discount?

The first time you use the card, the pharmacist will enter your card information. Each time after that the savings will be automatically deducted! You just need to bring your card anytime you go to a new pharmacy.

How do the discounts work?

We have negotiated the lowest possible rates for USA Rx discount pharmacy card members. You pay the discounted rate on all your prescriptions.

What is the Discount Card?

The USA Rx discount card is a free way to instantly save money on your prescriptions while going to any of about 60,000 pharmacies across the United States. Simply bring your card in to the pharmacy where the pharmacy will run your card to see how much of a discount is available. You'll typically save between 10-75% off the price of your prescription. You pay the discounted price and that's it!

Is this Insurance?

No, this is not insurance. USA Rx is a discount program that gives cardholders a discount on many types of prescription drugs. However, cardholders are obligated to pay for all prescriptions.

Do I need to pay or somehow qualify for the card?

USA Rx is free, and can be used by anyone. Simply sign up, print your card, and bring it to your pharmacy to start saving on your prescription medications.

Do I need to get a different card for each member of my family?

No, you can use one card to save for your entire family.

Does the card work with insurance plans?

The card is not designed to give you a discount in addition to the discount from your insurance provider. However many cardholders find that their price with the USA Rx card can be less than their copay. In addition, the USA Rx card can often make sense to use if you have high deductible or Health Savings Account (HSA) plans.

Does the card cover medications for pre-existing conditions?

Absolutely! Everyone can use the card.

Is my medical information private?

We do not have access to your medical information. Only you and your pharmacist have access to your medication history.

Will my card expire? Do I need to renew my card?

No, your card will not expire.

Can I use the card in any state?

Yes! Over 60,000 pharmacies participate. USA Rx is accepted at pharmacies throughout the USA. Use our pharmacy finder to locate a pharmacy near you.

What prescription medications are covered by the USA Rx card?

All FDA approved brand and generic prescription medications are covered.

Can anyone use my card?

Yes - family, friends, co-workers, or anyone who can use this type of prescription assistance!

Can I use my card for mail-order prescriptions?

No, there is no mail-order prescription service with this card.

I am not a U.S. Citizen, can I use the card?

Absolutely, anyone may use the USA Rx card if it is used at pharmacies within the U.S.

I already have insurance that covers my prescription drugs. How can the card benefit me?

This program can be used to obtain savings on prescription drugs that are excluded by your insurance plan or are not covered because you have exceeded your insurance plan's maximum limits.

How do I know how much my medication will cost?

Give your pharmacist your USA Rx discount pharmacy card and prescription. The participating pharmacy will give you their lowest price available. The price using the USA Rx discount pharmacy card is often significantly lower than any retail you would receive without the card.

Does my doctor need to know about this card when writing my prescription?

No. This program will not affect your medical care or treatment decisions by your doctor.

Do prices vary among participating pharmacies?

Industry standards determine the discounted rate for prescription medications. This means in most instances, all participating pharmacies will offer the same low price. These rates are updated at least once a week, so prices may vary depending on when you go to the pharmacy.

Why don't all pharmacies accept the card?

This is a voluntary program and not every pharmacy chooses to participate.
