Symbicort Drug Information:

Symbicort contains a combination of Desonide">BuDesonide and formoterol. Desonide">BuDesonide is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the body. Formoterol is a long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes muscles in the airways to improve breathing. Symbicort is used to control and prevent the symptoms of asthma in adults and children at least 6 years old. Symbicort is also used to help control the symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.   • Body aches or pain
  • chills
  • cough
  • difficulty with breathing
  • ear congestion
  • fever
  • headache
  • loss of voice
  • muscle aches
  • pain or tenderness around the eyes and cheekbones
  • sneezing
  • sore throat
  • stuffy or runny nose
  • tightness of the chest
  • unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

  • Bladder pain
  • bloody or cloudy urine
  • congestion
  • cough producing mucus
  • diarrhea
  • difficult, burning, or painful urination
  • dryness of the throat
  • fast, irregular, pounding, or racing heartbeat or pulse
  • frequent urge to urinate
  • general feeling of discomfort or illness
  • hoarseness

  • slow, fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse

  • Blindness
  • decreased vision
  • eye pain
  • puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips or tongue
  • tearing

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur while taking budesonide / formoterol:

Symptoms of overdose

  • Arm, back, or jaw pain
  • chest pain or discomfort
  • darkening of the skin
  • drowsiness
  • mental depression
  • rapid, deep breathing
  • restlessness
  • skin rash
  • stomach cramps
