Mometasone is a steroid. It prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. Mometasone nasal (for use in the nose) is used to treat nasal symptoms of seasonal or year-round allergies, including congestion, sneezing, and runny nose. Mometasone nasal is approved for this use in adults and children who are at least 2 years old.
